Friend won’t visit while I’m “sick”!

My friend that I talk with refuses to come see me this weekend “while you’re sick”! The rash shouldn’t matter so I can only think he means being in a mixed episode as my pnurse agrees with him saying keep taking Vraylar and come back in six weeks! I will be very sad if I don’t see him again for six weeks! I started my kitchen today. Got more to do. I could get it all done by Saturday which is what I told Caleb but he doesn’t care. My pnurse blames the pharmacy and the pharmacy blames my pnurse for my not having Vraylar for two weeks straight! And while they’re blaming each other I have to suffer!

Next time that confusion happens, ask your prescriber to SHOW YOU they sent over the prescription so that you know it’s not them not sending it over. It’s easier for the pharmacy to “show nothing” whether it’s there or not and blame the doc than the doc to show something that isn’t there.

I was told that pnurse sent a two-week script after I saw her just over a week ago- on Friday.

By who? The pnurse or were they just relaying what the pnurse said? My point stands that if this is an ongoing issue (if this isn’t a one time off deal) you should have your prescriber send it over while you are with them or ask for the physical paper prescription (if they even still do that I know some pharmacies won’t take them for controlled substances). Find a foolproof way to find out where the errors are and prevent them or at least make it easy to fix so you don’t go without the meds.

Got some cleaning done and got some groceries today. It’s super nice out today. I’ve got to clean out the cat box before I go to bed tonight! Must make myself. Got nutrition class tomorrow and choir on Thursday. See the gastrointestinal doctor Friday. I will feel better if I can get the trash to the dumpster either tonight or tomorrow morning.

The pharmacy said my pnurse called in a two-week script plus a 30-day supply for next month on the Friday last week that I saw pnurse. Must’ve already been headed toward a mixed episode a month ago- apartment started being messy and I had all those ER visits when stopping Vraylar pushed me over the edge.

I just cleaned out the cat box! Kitty has been so patient!

How long does Vraylar take to kick in?

First week

Although Vraylar won’t reach its full effectiveness for a few weeks, patients may notice improvement in symptoms of mania, psychosis, and depression within the first week of treatment, says Sid Khurana, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist and medical director of outpatient services at Nevada Mental Health in Las Vegas.

Side effects may also begin to develop within the first week or two of taking Vraylar. Dr. Khurana says initial side effects may include:

Restlessness
Stiffness
Tremors
Nausea
Tiredness
Occasional vomiting
First month

Symptoms of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or depression should gradually improve over the first month on Vraylar. “Some of the side effects that appear in the first week might get better by now, or some of them might get worse as the levels of the medicine in the body increase over time,” Dr. Khurana explains.

The most common side effects of Vraylar are:

Trouble sleeping
Extrapyramidal symptoms (e.g., tremors, shaking, involuntary movements, drooling)
An uncontrollable urge to move (akathisia)
Nausea and vomiting
Constipation
Fatigue
Muscle stiffness
Restlessness
Dizziness
Indigestion
Blurred vision
Increased blood pressure
Back pain
Weight gain
Increased heart rate
Dry mouth
Even common side effects can be very unpleasant. Discuss severe or worsening side effects with your healthcare provider. They may be able to adjust the dose of Vraylar or suggest supplementary medications to help manage side effects.

Can’t sleep. Nobody wants to talk to me! Caleb went to bed 50 minutes ago. I feel like I’ll never make it another six weeks until my next Pdoc appointment!

Went to the grocery store twice today- once for regular groceries and again because I forgot to get a snack for choir rehearsal tomorrow evening- it’s Alto week to bring the snacks. Also went to my nutrition class. Today’s topic was fats.

Making chicken in my air fryer. Yum! Took a shower. Wow! Chicken is thighs so more fat but I don’t care. It’s gonna be good!

It's no use. My friends don't understand bipolar depression. I’m trying every day to clean a little bit at a time. The cat and I have had dinner. The cat box is clean. I have clean clothes on my clean body. That's progress.

Still agitated/mixed.

My friend talked with me for two hours today on the phone but wont even mention coming to visit.

We talked about his coming in a few weeks for my birthday. He didn’t object so maybe?

Maybe he’ll come once the apartment is clean…

He’s still making excuses when I make a suggestion and not making his own suggestion! I’m much better. Can’t use the “not when you’re sick” excuse anymore!

Sigh. Now he’s not calling me.

Thank you! I do have a lot of energy! He says he likes it when I’m hypomanic because I’m fun but apparently mixed like I’ve been for weeks now he can’t deal with!

Doing laundry. And hope the person who left wet clothes in the dryers doesn’t get up for a while because I moved their clothes so I could use a dryer! There’s a sign that says please remove your laundry promptly so other people can use the machines. It’s just rude to leave your laundry in the washers and dryers unattended- and wet?? In the dryers??
